Applications
Atmer 116 is recommended as an Anti-fogging additive food wrap applications in conjunction with Atmer 1010 (only available in USA). It can also be used as an external Anti-static agent in all polymers, particularly PET.

Mode of action
For use with PET, Atmer 116 should be dissolved in an appropriate solvent such as water or isopropyl alcohol and applied to the surface of the polymer. For polymers other than PET, Atmer 116 can be used in conjunction with Atmer 1010 to provide an internal Anti-fogging additive. When both additives are dispersed evenly through
the polymer in the melt phase, they migrate to the surface of the polymer and lower the surface tension, allowing water droplets to condense on the plastic. The water droplets are then able to spread into a continuous, uniform layer on the fabricated film.

Guidelines for use
For PET use, Atmer 116 should be dissolved in a solvent at typical concentrations of 1 5 %. Application quantities to the polymer surface depend upon the surface area, typical requirements range from 50 200 mg/m2. For use in polymers other than PET, Atmer 116 can be incorporated into resin as supplied or via masterbatch / pre-blend. Experience has shown that simple manual mixing prior to processing will normally give an acceptable dispersion though, mechanical means are preferred.
Typical addition levels are 0.5 4 %.
