Broadview Technologies proudly introduces BV 2PS-­-1, a new 2-­-phase anhydride system. BV-­-2PS-­-1 is a pre-­-catalyzed anhydride type epoxy curative that has been engineered to provide a combination of high Tg, high flexural strength and damage tolerance. BV 2PS-­-1 works by phase separation. During the polymerization process the flexible and rigid portions become somewhat incompatible and phase separate. This results in a high Tg matrix that contains pockets of rubber like, shock absorbing regions. Both the high Tg and the rubber like portions are composed of only cross-­- linked epoxy-­-anhydride. The cross-­-link density is not lowered which results in an unparalleled combination of strength and toughness.
