GP-817 is a 68% active solution of a reactive silicone resin, which is recommended as an adhesion promoter for organic polymer adhesives and sealants, and as a room temperature cure protective coating for metal substrates. GP-817 is most effective as an additive to epoxy resin based coatings and adhesives, where both adhesion and water resistance are improved. GP-817 can also be used as an adhesion promoter in coatings based on polyurethanes, phenol and urea formaldehyde resins and alkyd resins. When used as a protective coating for metals, apply by spraying, dipping or brushing and allow 16-24 hours at slightly elevated temperature to obtain a clear, hard coating. GP-817 may also be used as a sizing agent for glass fiber, applied by dipping with resulting greater reinforcement of glass filled composites. GP-817 contains flammable solvents (xylene and alcohols). Use with all precautions required for handling and use of flammable materials.
