Atmer™ 1010
Atmer™ 1010 is recommended in combination with Atmer™ 116 as an anti-fogging additive in laminated PE food wrap films as well as for plastic cling.
Mode of action
Atmer™ 1010 can be dispersed evenly through the polymer in the melt phase. It migrates to the surface of the polymer where it helps to lower the surface tension and subsequently reduces water droplets allowed to condense on the plastic. The water droplets are then able to spread into a continuous, uniform layer on the fabricated film.
Benefits
- Improves transparency through packaging
- Improved durability of contents
- Improved presentation of food contents
- More appealing packaging content for consumers
Recommended Polymers
- LDPE
- PVC
Guidelines for use
Atmer™ 1010 can be incorporated into resin as supplied or via masterbatch / pre-blend. Experience has shown that simple manual mixing prior to processing will normally give an acceptable dispersion though, mechanical means are preferred.
Typical addition levels are 0.5 - 4%
