Solasorb™ UV 200F
Mode of action
- Solasorb UV 200F is dispersed evenly through the polymer during extrusion. As a metal oxide, it absorbs and scatters UV light radiation protecting packaging and contents from UV degradation.
Feature and benefits
- Improved transparency compared to other metal oxide powders
- Reduced agglomeration due to stable dispersion
- Minimised health and safety issues over using powder based metal oxides
Guidelines for use
- Solasorb UV 200F is an internal additive and can be incorporated into resin as supplied or via masterbatch / pre-blend. Experience has shown that simple manual mixing prior to processing will normally give an acceptable dispersion though, mechanical means are preferred.
- Typical addition levels depend on the thickness of the film and the desired UV absorbance. A film of 100 µm thickness requires 1.5% addition of Solasorb UV 200F to reduce UV light transmission at 275 nm by 95%
