Minbloc® M-4000

Generic Family: Additive -- Antiblock -- Silica / Diatomaceous EarthSupplied by: Sibelco Specialty Minerals Europe
MINBLOC® M cristobalite plastic film additives are produced from high purity quartz feedstocks. Sequential refining in a proprietary process yields grades specifically designed for high clarity polyolefin packaging and horticultural film applications. It is MINBLOC's unique and distinctive combination of particle morphology, surface chemistry and refractive index that produces excellent antiblocking performance with minimal impact upon barefoot resin optical properties or process additive efficiency. In the ongoing effort to balance functionality with optical objectives, MINBLOC delivers superior haze, gloss and clarity values without diminishing critical structural or mechanical properties.

MINBLOC® low particulate specific surface area and porosity permits high loading rates of as much as 60 % by weight in masterbatch formulations for increased productivity and prevents interference with other process additives due to absorption. The transformation of MINBLOC M at 1500°C eliminates all organic impurities. The extremely low content of iron and other trace elements reduces UV photo degradation in agricultural film applications to promote longer field service lifetimes. The high purity of MINBLOC M and its non-reactivity with polyolefin resins and other additives is the foundation of its certification for use in food contact applications.

All MINBLOC® M grades are processed and refined with rigid adherence to ISO 9001 quality assurance programs. The result is chemical purity and consistent particle size distributions for predictable results and reliable service.
