MlNBLOC® SC Plastic Film Additives are processed from a high purity amorphous synthetic composite to yield grades specifically designed for polyolefin packaging and horticultural film. A distinctive combination of particle morphology and refractive index, MINBLOC produces excellent antiblocking performance with minimal impact upon optical properties or additive efficiency. In the ongoing effort to balance functionality with appearance, MINBLOC delivers superior haze, gloss and clarity values without diminishing critical structural or mechanical properties.

In horticultural film applications MlNBLOC® engineered particle size distributions optimize the thermal efficiency of greenhouse cover and agricultural films. It is the refractive index that facilitates transmittance of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) for accelerated crop growth. With strong infrared reflection properties in the 1400 - 700 cm-1 wavelength region, 100 µm LDPE films containing 10% MINBLOC can substantially reduce heat loss compared to unfilled systems. Retaining more of this captured infrared energy offers the additional advantages of stable overnight greenhouse temperatures and extended growing seasons without supplemental space heating. Extremely low iron and other trace element content also reduces UV photo degradation to promote longer field service life.
