Akroform® HMT-65/SBR/P

Akroform® HMT-65/SBR/P is a 65% polymeric dispersion of hexamethylenetetramine in an SBR binder. HMT is methylene donor and is typically used with resorcinol to make rubber-to-fabric adhesion possible. There is a synergy with adding silica (ppt'd or fumed) to the HMT/Resorcinol system to obtain improved performance. HMT is also an efficient activator/accelerator for sulfenamides and thiazoles. When used alone, HMT is slow curing, but provides a high degree of cross-linking. HMT is also used as a hardener for phenolic resins. HMT is non-staining / non-blooming.
