Akrofax™ 758 is a sulfurless, oil-resistant (due to being made from castor oil) vulcanized vegetable oil. It was originally designed for millable urethanes but its usage has expanded to fluorocarbons, HNBR and other peroxide cured compounds where sulfur cannot be tolerated. Akrofax 758 is also used in PVC to improve extrusion and flow properties. Its white color is ideal for non-black compounds. This production has the following functions:

Capacity for absorbing large amounts of mineral oils and other liquid plasticizer on mill and banbury.

To speed the incorporation of fillers and to increase milling efficiency.

To reduce migration of oils and plasticizers to the surface in low durometer stocks.

To provide a non-thermoplastic firmness in uncured compounds which strengthens extruded sections and minimizes distortions in open steam cures. Gives soft compounds enough firmness to push out entrapped air.

Ability to flow or promote flow under mechanical pressure.

To provide a unique surface finish and supple feel to vulcanized rubber goods.

To improve ozone resistance of the rubber compounds.

To reduce compound nerve and improve smoothness of extrusions and calendared sheets.

Plasticizer that results in minimum extraction.
