Akrowax™ 195
Akrowax™ 195 is a fully refined microcrystalline wax derived from petroleum in bead form. This particular wax will migrate very slowly to the surface of a rubber part. For this reason it should not be used alone for ozone protection but combined with a low melt paraffin wax to provide a flexible antiozonant film. Typically, Akrowax™ 195 is used in the sealants industry where the wax's ease of incorporation, firmness below melt point (roughly defined melt point is approximately 195°F) and flow properties are all advantageous. The high molecular weight gives this wax high melt point and firmness at room temperature.
