Proaid 800 is a new dispersing additive for highly filled (mineral, carbon black, etc) and pigment masterbatches. Proaid 800 is used as a process aid in most elastomer systems and in a broad range of thermoplastic resins (ABS, PET, PP, PVC, PS, TPO, and TPE's). Proaid 800 provides good retention of physical properties, color and can dramatically improve processability. When used as a primary dispersant, Proaid 800 can replace PE waxes, EBS, metal stearates and acrylics which are typically used to disperse fillers and/or pigments in polymer/resin systems. The recommended loading for filler dispersion is 0.5 to 2.5%. For pigment dispersions, 5 to 15% is recommended. Proaid 800 is a state-of-the-art amphiphilic functional hydrocarbon with highly polar groups that have strong affinity to filler surfaces. It works at compatiblizing the filler/polymer interface. These strong polar groups will wet out the surface of the filler and provide molecular bonds with the filler. Proaid 800 can be used as a direct surface treatment onto inorganic fillers or pigments to improve their dispersion in the polymer matrix. Recommended treatment level would be 0.1 to 2.0%.
