Zinc Borate is one environmental-friendly halogen-free flame retardant. There are some formulations of XZnO.YB2O3.ZH2O, in which Zinc Borate anhydrous is called ZB-23 (2ZnO.3B2O3). ZB700 is stable up to 600?, so it can be used in polymer systems requiring very high processing temperatures. It can be added into extruders, calenders, or injection molding equipment. ZB700 is used as a flame retardant and smoke suppressant in some polymers, such as polyetherketone, polysulfone, fluoropolymer, polyester and nylon etc.
