GP-816 is a siloxane resin polymer which cures in the presence of atmospheric moisture to form a dry, non-transferring, non-stick coating. GP-816 gives optimum performance when applied to mold surfaces by spraying, swabbing or dipping, and then allowed to air dry until a solid coating is developed by exposure to atmospheric moisture. GP-816 cure rate can be increased by room temperature application, followed by heating to 150°F - 200°F. In many cases, GP-816 may also be directly applied to heated substrates at 100°F - 200°F. GP-816 contains approximately 90% by weight of moisture-reactive silicone resin, which liberates by-product ethanol, along with a minor quantity of mineral spirits.
