Genesee GP-803

Generic Family: Additive -- Slip Agent / Lubricant / Mold Release / Processing AidSupplied by: Genesee Polymers Corporation
GP-803 is a 35% active solution of silicone resin in Isopar G. When applied to substrates by spraying, dipping or wiping, the Isopar G carrier evaporates and the silicone resin component undergoes a curing reaction (activated by atmospheric moisture) to yield a rubbery, clear coating with excellent release (adhesive) properties. The rate of curing can be increased by adding dibutyltin dilaurate (Air Products T-12 Catalyst) at 0.1 to 0.5% addition level, with cure rate increasing with addition level. GP-803 may be diluted to 1-5% active with Isopar G or other dry (water-free) mineral spirits solvents, for many release agent applications. Following application, allow adequate time for moisture activated cure which will vary from 8-16 hours, depending on whether or not T-12 is used. GP-803 is suggested for use as a release agent for polyurethane or polyester molded parts, as a conformal coating for electronic components or as a cladding for fiber optic cables. The following list summarizes some of the special features of GP-803:
