GUARD DOG™ UVP Light Absorber
Applications: Extremely effective in Styrenic polymers, PVC, polycarbonate, ABS, unsaturated polyesters, PU, acrylic polymers, natural rubber, synthetic rubber, paints, synthetic fiber, cellulose resin and adhesives.
Recommended dosage: 0.1 - 1.0% (PE 0.2 - 0.5 wt. %, PP 0.2 - 0.5 wt. %, Rigid PVC 0.5 wt. %, Plasticized PVC 0.5 - 2 wt. %). GUARD DOG™ UVP can be used alone or in a variety of blends and combinations other light stabilizers, UV absorbers and antioxidants for synergistic performance.
GUARD DOG™ UVP may react with heavy metal ions to form salts or complexes such as iron or cobalt ions. Reducing and oxidizing agents used in the reaction and curing processes have no effect on the product stability.
Performance Benefits: GUARD DOG™ UVP performs synergistically when used in combination with Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS)
- Very high degree of photostability and resistant to oxidizing and reducing agents.
- High heat resistance (5% wt. loss @ 190°C) without significant degradation or volatility at proper extrusion temperature. Does not discolor during light or heat aging
- Excellent compatibility with polymers and is odorless. Does not impart smell to the polymer
