ANTIFLAME™ APP-401
It behaves as an intumescence type of a flame retardant wherein the product when exposed to fire or heat, gets decomposed into polymeric phosphoric acid and ammonia. The polymeric phosphoric acid then reacts with the hydroxyl or other functional groups present in the substrate to form a non stable phosphate ester which undergoes dehydration to form an insulating carbon char against the heat surface. This carbon barrier / char thus act as an insulator layer, shielding further decomposition of the substrate into flammable entities.
