Micronized Dry Kaolin

Generic Family: Filler / Reinforcement -- Kaolin ClaySupplied by: Micronized Products
Kaolinite or Kaolin is regarded as the most important clay mineral. Clay minerals are all part of the mineral family Phyllosilicates, or layered silicates.

The native ore occurs naturally in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The ore is mined in surface operations. In the beneficiation procedure, the product is separated, and milled to produce a clean, off-white, high alumina content end-product. Chemical stability and consistency are further benefits.

Dry Kaolin differs from the mined product solely in free moisture content. The ore is dried prior to high energy milling and bagging. Kaolin has a tendency to re-associate moisture from the atmosphere, depending on factors such as relative humidity and storage locations.
