BNX® 1114
Applications: MPM® 1114 is specifically designed to beta nucleate certain alpha-nucleated polypropylene resin when used at addition levels in the range of 1.0% to 2.0%. The major application areas for beta nucleated polypropylene include injection or compression molded polypropylene parts requiring higher impact strength, opaque and matte finish oriented film, and opaque thermoformed parts. Beta nucleated polypropylene is not suitable for applications requiring high clarity.
Advantages:
- Can be added at the extruder hopper to produce sheet with high levels of beta crystallinity.
- Can be used with certain alpha-nucleated PP resins, where other beta nucleant masterbatches would not be effective.
- Broadens the processing window for thermoforming PP, and produces thermoformed parts with more uniform material distribution and improved crush strength and rigidity, with lower sidewall density.
- All of the components of the masterbatch are FDA approved for food contact applications.
- This masterbatch can also be provided with various pigments, in order to color match the end use application (for example: caps & closures).
