Polymed HP50/75 is a catalysed polyether compound which reacts with Polymed I5000 isocyanate to form a polyurethane elastomer with good resistance to hydrolysis and good overall mechanical properties. This material is one of a series of products ranging in hardness from 55 Shore A to 95 Shore A. The material codes for the series are as follows: HP50/55 (55A); HP50/65 (65A);HP50/70(70A); HP50/75 (75A) HP50/85 (85A); HP50/95 (95A) The range of polyols use a common isocyanate and the required grade of polyol should be selected to produce the required hardness. This series of materials may be supplied ready pigmented or unpigmented. A range of pigment dispersions are available for the unpigmented product.


HP50/75 has been formulated for applications requiring a 75 Shore A polyurethane elastomer with good mechanical properties and good resistance to hydrolysis. These properties are obtained using moderate moulding and postcure temperatures. Typical applications include: the manufacture of dunnage equipment; the encapsulation of sonar transducers and arrays; cable termination and sheath reinstatement; the manufacture of tough flexible moulds; general moulding of tough flexible components.
