Sunny Chemical UV-P
UV-P is a benzotriazole-type UV absorber. Characterized by its strong, broad range UV absorption property, UV-P brings an excellent photostability to polymers against UV light exposure in many ways, i.e. retarding color yellowing, preventing embrittlement, maintaining of mechanical properties, etc.
Advantages:
- Very high photostability for its strong ability to absorb light especially in UV region (270-340 nm)
- Odorless, does not bring smells to the polymers
- Very stable to heat, and can be used in plastics which require high processing temperature
- Low vapor pressure, very little or no loss during processing
Applications
- Styrenic polymers: 0.2-0.5% wt for PS based on polymer wt.
- 0.3-0.5 wt% for ABS based on polymer wt.
- 0.5-2.0 wt% for HIPS based on polymer wt.
- Polyvinyl chloride: 0.2-0.5 wt% for PVC based on polymer wt.
- Polyurethane: 0.3-1.0 wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
- Polyacrylate: 0.15-0.3 wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
- Polycarbonate: 0.15-0.3 wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
- Unsaturated polyester: 0.2-0.4 wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
