FyrolTM PNX-LE is a halogen free additive flame retardant used in flexible polyurethane foam. This material is non-corrosive to glass or metals. FyrolTM PNX-LE is a highly efficient halogen free flame retardant suitable for flexible polyurethane foam. It is most suitable for MVSS 302 and Cal 117 type foams, but also applicable in UL94HF foams. Its high molecular weight is also another advantage in automotive foams because in suitable formulations it is low fogging and can give foams extreme low in VOC emissions passing all the automotive volatile requirements. FyrolTM PNX-LE is needed to pass the severe VDA 278 test. Although performance will vary depending on density and formulation it is not unusual to see a reduction of 50% in the level of flame retardant necessary to meet the above tests in slabstock foam. The product is very hygroscopic. Keep sample bottles, drums etc. closed.
