Eastman NPG™ Glycol Platelets
Eastman NPG™ is the industry standard glycol component in high-quality polyester resins for industrial coatings and fiberglass-reinforced plastics applications. The platelet form is supplied in bags that exhibit excellent caking stability on storage.
Applications where Eastman NPG™ glycol is useful are:
- Production of diesters and polyesters, where it provides fast processing, excellent stability, low color, good resistance to chemicals and weathering, and improved electrical, thermal, and hydrolytic stability
- Unsaturated polyester gel coats for marine applications and bathroom tubs, sinks, and toilets, where Eastman NPG™ imparts low color, excellent weathering, and hydrolytic stability
- Fiberglass-reinforced greenhouses and similar structures
- Halogenated, flame-retardant polyesters
- Saturated, reactive polyesters based on Eastman NPG™ combined with melamine resins to produce premium-quality heat-curable enamels for coil coating or spray applications
- Rigid and flexible polyurethane foams
