3B's H2020 Direct Roving is made of HiPer-tex™ glass and consists of continuous filaments bonded into a single strand and wound onto a bobbin shape. H2020 Direct Roving is specifically designed for the production of vessels by Filament Winding technologies. H2020 Direct Roving features the second-to-none specific epoxy compatible sizing newly developed by 3B that ensures enhanced epoxy-to-glass bonding. H2020-made composites display high static properties such as high strength and modulus as well as inter-fibre and interlaminar strengths that translate into unprecedented level of fatigue performances on the final composite. For these reasons H2020 Direct Roving is the roving of choice for the manufacturing of fully glass wrapped Type 3 and Type 4 CNG cylinders.

HiPer-tex™ glass is a High Performance glass produced by 3B the fibreglass company. It is classified as high strength, high modulus R-Glass, by ASTM C-162, DIN 1259 and ISO 2078 standards. HiPer-tex™ glass displays outstanding mechanical properties that translate into 10% higher stiffness and 30% higher strength than conventional glass fibres. HiPer-tex™ glass is also a boron-free glass that presents significant improved corrosion resistance over a wide range of aggressive environments, including automotive battery acid. 3B's HiPer-tex™ glass is produced with the latest and newest State of the Art glass manufacturing technology. Not only this technology displays the highest energy efficiency for the lowest environmental impact but it also enables production of glass featuring the highest level of consistency compulsorily required for high demanding applications such as high pressure composite vessels. For these reasons, 3B's HiPer-tex™ glass is recognized as the global benchmark product when it deals with manufacturing of fully glass-wrapped CNG composite cylinders that meed the most stringent standards, UN R110 or NGV2-2007.
