Ozone is universally recognized as a major contributor to the degradation of rubber products, even though it is present in the atmosphere at very low concentrations. Rubber waxes are complex blends of fully refined paraffin waxes and microcrystalline wax designed to cover a broad temperature spectrum. Waxes added to the rubber act by migrating to the surface where they form a thin, inert film that serves as a barrier to ozone. So rubber Anti-ozone Wax could offer protection against ozone attack and any type of weather influences, to extend the rubber products working life. Unprotected elastomers will absorb ozone and form ozonides by the attack of double bonds on the surface layer. Under tension the absorption becomes continuous, which caused surface cracks, and when the strain exceeds a critical value cracks grow continuously at a constant rate. The rate of crack growth is proportional to the ozone concentration.
