FG-8500, our originally developed carbonate oligomer of tetrabromobisphenol-A, is an addition type flame retardant characterized as below.

Feature

FG-8500 is one of bromine-containing flame retardants excellent in heat resistance.

FG-8500 has a bromine content higher than that of PG-7000 series since it binds TBP (tribromophenol) as a terminating unit.

FG-8500 is a non-blooming type flame retardant.

FG-8500 is particularly effective for use with polyester, polycarbonate and other resins molded at high temperatures.

FG-8500 shows flame retarding effect to a certain degree when used alone, but shows higher effect when combined with an auxiliary compound such as antimony trioxide.

Major Application
FG-8500 shows excellent flame retarding effect when mixed into engineering plastics such as PBT and polycarbonate, and also with styrene resins including polystyrene and ABS.
