CSX™ 691
Key Applications
CSX691 specialty carbon black is an easy to disperse carbon black that can be used in a number of polymer and coatings applications, including:
- Tinting black in plastics
- Tinting black in liquid dispersions
- Infrared (IR) opacifier in expandable polystyrene (EPS) foams
Product Features
EPS Foams
- Morphology and surface chemistry are favorable for preparation and foaming of EPS foams
- Good infrared absorption characteristics for lambda reduction provide improved thermal performance compared to white EPS
- Designed to reduce interaction with other additives (e.g. flame retardants) in comparison with other carbon blacks
Tinting Black
- Low lot-to-lot variability facilitates consistent performance
- Easy to disperse
- Good tinting performance
