Characteristics & Usages
- Secondary antioxidant for organic polymers.
- An effective liquid aryl phosphite for many types of diverse polymer applications including PVC, adhesives, styrenics, engineering thermoplastics, polyesters, polyurethanes, coatings, epoxies, and polycarbonates.
- Typical use levels range from 0.1 to 3.0% for most applications.
- Can be used to enhance the effect of polymerization catalysts in some polyolefin processes
- Can be used in polymers where regulatory approval for food contact is not required
- It can be used in rigid and flexible PVC applications as a secondary stabilizer and chelating agent to give brighter, more consistent colors and improve the heat stability of PVC
- Used as a gelation accelerator and thinner of epoxy resins
- Phosphites should be handled in a dry inert atmosphere. The entire contents of the drum should be used at one time, due to the tendency to hydrolyze when exposed to moisture such as humid air.
