Excel DMBPC
Excel manufactures 1,1,bis(4-hydroxy 3-methyl phenyl) cyclohexane, commonly known as DMBPC. This molecule is used as anti-scratch agent for polycarbonate. The use of DMBPC as a monomer obviates the need for application of scratch resistent top coats or precoats making the process more user friendly and the products more competitive.
Given its -OH functionality, it also serves as an ideal candidate for polyesters and epoxy resins. Given its aromatic character and rigid cyclic structure, DMBPC provides high moisture barrier and thermal resistance.
