Benzophenone UV Absorber
  • Has the maximum absorption coefficient in short -wavelength UV regions. It exhibits minimal color contribution in the polymers.
  • Protects polymers from photo-degradation by absorbing UV light before it hits the polymer, which drastically reduces discoloration and slows the decline in physical
and mechanical properties of the polymer.
  • Shows a marked synergistic effect on weatherability (light stability) when used with HALS (hindered amine light stabilizer).
  • Care should be taken for its interaction with metal-ion which causes discoloration.
  • Approved as an indirect additive in food contact substances in US, EU and Japan.
