VIBATAN NY BACTERIOSTATIC 02494 is a dispersion of a special bacteriostatic agent in polyamide, free from fillers, waxes or any other lubricants.
Application:
It is well-known that plastic materials are subjected to continuous attacks by microorganisms. The presence of bacteria or fungi could be due to bad hygienic conditions and concerning some plastic materials this presence is due to plasticizers used for relevant production.
Growth and propagation of microorganisms, above all in textile applications, lead to some inconveniences, such as bad smells, decolorations or stains and also the actual functional characteristics of the filament, as elasticity and tear-resistance, could be altered.
By nature, plastics do not have any protection system and therefore they are not able to prevent themselves from this contamination: the addition of VIBATAN NY BACTERIOSTATIC 02494 works in order to prevent and stop the growth and the propagation of microorganisms in polyamide filaments.
The filament made with VIBATAN NY BACTERIOSTATIC 02494 mantains its efficacy even after
numerous washes, thanks not only to the release of small dosages of active substance each washing cycle, but also thanks to the good heat stability of the contained additive.
