As a stabilizer and lubricant of PVC, it is used in film for food packages, in medical and nontoxic soft products. Along with basic lead salts and lead soap, it is used in rigid plastic products. As a lubricant and mould releasing agent, it is used in polyolefins and polyesters to reinforce plastics and resins which are thermo-plastics. As a raw material, it is used as a flatting agent for paint and as a core in the making of pens.
