MagShield® UF NB-10 magnesium hydroxide is a chemically precipitated grade of magnesium hydroxide made from brine and dolomitic lime with a median particle size of 1.0 micron. It is designed for critical, non-halogen flame retardant applications such as wire and cable insulation and other thin section applications. MagShield® UF NB-10has been treated with a magnesium stearate coating that is fully bonded to the magnesium hydroxide to improve dispersion, handling and physical properties of the compounded plastic. There is no free fatty acid present. The stearate coating covers 40% of the MagShield surface allowing other surface treatments to be added if necessary.
