Applications
Used as an activator in sulfur based cure systems and a vulcanizer for halobutyl rubbers. Mixgran® ZnO-80 LM is a special grade of zinc oxide particulary suitable for the rubber industry. Due to its elastomer-bound form, the absorption of humidity from the atmosphere during storage is prevented.
In comparison to extrusion compounds containing powdered zinc oxide, those with Mixgran® ZnO-80 LM provide smoother profiles. This is due to the more homogeneous dispersion of Mixgran® ZnO-80 LM. A slight increase in modulus and tensile strength usually occurs. Elongation at break is also
improved.
