Solasorb UV 200F provides good UV coverage with a wide absorption range and minimal loss of packaging clarity. The product is recommended for durable applications.

Mode of action

Solasorb UV 200F is dispersed evenly through the polymer during extrusion. As a metal oxide, it absorbs and scatters UV light radiation protecting packaging and contents from UV degradation.

Guidelines for use

Solasorb UV 200F is an internal additive and can be incorporated into resin as supplied or via masterbatch / pre-blend. Experience has shown that simple manual mixing prior to processing will normally give an acceptable dispersion though, mechanical means are preferred.

Typical addition levels depend on the thickness of the film and the desired UV absorbance. A film of 100 µm thickness requires 1.5% addition of Solasorb UV 200F to reduce UV light transmission at 275 nm by 95%
