Uvasorb® HA88 is an olygomeric Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer (HALS). It is particularly effective as light and long term heat stabilizer for plastics.
Many years of light stability and high temperature service conditions can be achieved. Uvasorb® HA88 has a very high molecular weight (about 3000) and therefore is suitable for thin section applications. The structure makes Uvasorba HA88 more efficient than the other HALSs and imparts to the product the following properties:

• a superior compatibility with many different kind of polymers;

• low volatility and minimal migration rate;

• high extraction resistance;

• high thermal stability preventing decomposition and volatilization even at elevated temperatures;

• high antioxidant activity and high contribution to long term heat stabilization of polymers;

• high compatibility and synergism with a broad range of additives used in polymer formulation;

• gas fading resistance.

Uvasorb® HA88 does not normally affect the color and the transparency of the substrates which it is added to.

APPLICATIONS:

Uvasorb® HA88 is highly effective and recommended for the UV stabilization of:

• Polyolefins (Polypropylene, Polyethylene);

• Olefin copolymers (EP, EVA);

• Polypropylene-elastomer blends.

It is also suitable for the UV stabilization of:

• Polyacetals;

• Polyamides;

• Polyurethanes;

• Styrenic Polymers.

Uvasorb® HA88 may be effective in :

• Elastomers;

• Adhesives.

Uvasorb® HA88 is particularly efficient in thin layer applications such as fibers, films, tapes and coatings, calling for
minimal migration and low volatility.

Uvasorb® HA88 is also used in automotive, drums, bottles, crates, sheets, toys, marine and garden furniture
applications.

The performance of Uvasorb® HA88 may be impaired by substances containing halogens and sulfur
(pesticides, flame retardants, some stabilizers, etc.).

It is recommended that any application should be thoroughly investigated according to the specific conditions
of use.
