It has the simplest structure for aliphatic tetracarboxylic acids. It is expected to be developed as a modifier to add various functions including heat resistance and solubility to resins such as polyester, polyamide, and polyurethane by using adjacent four functional groups, and as an intermediate for compounds which have high functionality.
