Description: Long chain ammonium polyphosphate. An organo-phosphorus compound designed to provide flame retardant properties when used with polymeric resins. ANTIFLAME™ APP-30 intumesces to form a hard continuous char layer that insulates the substrate from the flame thus preventing the substrate from increasing in temperature. It exhibits the unique property of extremely low water solubility that allows for excellent outdoor weather ability. ANTIFLAME™ APP-30 does not decompose to halogenated products, nor does it emit irritating smoke or odors upon decomposition. ANTIFLAME™ APP-30 also exhibits unique synergistic properties when combined with other flame retardants.
