Ionphase™ trSTAT
Ionphase™ trSTAT is designed to be used with PMMA in compounding, injection molding and extrusion applications. Examples of applications include ESD protection for covers and housing in electronics, dust protection for automotive interior parts and appliance exterior parts.
Ionphase™ trSTAT can also be used in PVC and PLA extrusion.
Mode of action
Ionphase™ trSTAT is a static dissipative, polymeric polymer additive commonly known as a permanent antistatic additive. These additives are used to control static electricity in plastics. This works by forming an interpenetrated network within the host polymer reducing the resistivity of the blend.

Guidelines for use
Ionphase™ trSTAT is normally processed at 170-260°C . Actual processing temperatures will usually be determined by specific equipment or host polymer. We suggest adding the material as an additive in extrusion process. Barrier type screw with good mixing properties is recommended for good homogeneity of the polymer blend. Stainless steel with nitration, duplex chrome or nickel plating is recommended for screws, barrels, dies and adapters. Low MFI polyethylene is recommended for purging after using Ionphase™ trSTAT. The required loading of Ionphase™ trSTAT depends on the used host polymer, processing method and the targeted level of static dissipation.
