- Colourless, transparent oily liquid, b.p.168°C (10mmHg), m.p.-37.5°C, freezing point -20°C, viscosity 6 c.p.(20°C), refractive index 1.435(20°C).
- Soluble in aether and ethanol, insoluble in water.
- Used as plasticier for ethylenic resins, cellulosic resins amd synthetic rubbers.
- Also used as solvents and used in organic synthesis.
